So just wait and see who really is the hunter and who is the hunted….Īt the end of every chapter, go head-to-head with massive bosses corrupted with Dark Quartz and powerful beyond belief. While Skul may be small, he still packs quite a punch. Skul has crossed paths with a party of Adventurers! They are powerful foes that hunt Demons for sport. Choose combos that match your playing style and switch them in the heat of battle to bring your enemies to their knees. Use up to 2 skulls at a time, each of which has its own unique attack range, speed and power. In addition to his formidable fighting skills, he can gain new and exciting abilities depending on which skull he's wearing. Tons of skulls, tons of playable characters ![]() It will keep you on your toes, as you will never know what to expect. 'Skul: The Hero Slayer' is an action-platformer that boasts rogue-like features such as everchanging and challenging maps. ![]() All of the demons in the castle were taken prisoner except for one lone skeleton named 'Skul'. They attacked the Demon stronghold with overwhelming numbers and succeeded in its total destruction. What makes this time different though, is that the Adventurers decided to join forces with the Imperial Army and the 'Hero of Caerleon' to lead a full onslaught in hopes of wiping out the Demons once and for all. The human race attacking the Demon King's castle is nothing new and has happened countless times before. Featuring 90 playable characters each with their own unique abilities and a ton of items that can create wild synergies, the battles are as electrifying as they are challenging. P.S: As this is an adult content curator, i have to tell you that the game has no adult content whatsoever, it is just a 2D rogue-like platformer.Skul is a fast-paced action rogue-lite where losing your head is encouraged. Many thanks to Justin, one of Skul's developers, for giving me this review copy. I enjoyed it a lot, but it is still in Early Access and it needs to be improved. The animations are ok too, but yet there is this one problem, the visual parts of the game are not connected well enough, it could've looked a lot more amazing if it had a bit more effects and if there were more background and especially foreground sprites (like glass, waterfalls, etc). The pixelated graphics are pretty good, I like the soundtrack a lot too, especially this calm jazzy song from the castle. I finished the game, but i am sure I didn't get to try all of the skulls and orbs, this is why I will keep the game installed and i will play it again when i feel like it. You can upgrade your abilities, but it doesn't help that much, it's your skill that matters. You can change your abilities and passive effects by swapping your skull, a gameplay mechanic that i really liked! The items are mostly stat increases, but there are also some cool orbs that bring you an additional ability. Boss fights are a bit hard to adapt to and were not the easiest, but I prefer it this way. There is some diversity in enemies, and the mini-boss fights are really cool too. I wouldn't stress so much myself, but if i just wanted a quick game i'd go berserk and enjoy myself. Normal enemies and tanks barely do any damage, but it is quite hard to heal in this game since it is a rogue like and unless you really want to finish it you will have to cheese it down and avoid every bit of damage. It worked for me both when i wanted to relax and when i actually tried to beat the game. The game is more focused on gameplay than story, it is quite relaxing and it reminds me of a cool Enter the Gungeon clone on phone, except that it has no micro transactions for in-game currency and characters and there are no videos to give you more gold or revive you, it has the quality of a PC game. You decide to get into the battle and rescue your king, and this is quite amusing since you are a little skeleton and you somehow manage to kill hundreds of men and quite a lot of bosses. Skul's king got taken prisoner and so did many other mighty non-human warriors. ![]() ![]() In Skul: The Hero Slayer you play a small skeleton that found its homeland being invaded by humans, even though they have been at peace for quite a while. I don't want to imagine how MMO fantasy games would be like if the lv 1 skeletons had the power of this game's protagonist.
